Startup Fundamentals Certificate

Startup Fundamentals walks through the first eighteen months of a new venture as a sequence of decisions: which problem is real, what to build first, what to charge, who buys early, and how long the cash lasts. Every module ends with a document you actually produce - an interview log, an MVP scope, a pricing sheet, an outreach list, a 13-week cash forecast. It is written for people building with limited money and limited time, so no dedicated research or finance function is assumed.

What is this programme?

The Startup Fundamentals Certificate is an online course from ecertificate.pro, an independent training provider operating since 2016, covering problem validation, MVP scoping, pricing, first-customer acquisition and runway management. It takes about 24 hours and is assessed by module quizzes plus an applied portfolio in which you submit a validated problem statement, an MVP scope and a 13-week cash sheet for one idea. On completion the certificate is issued to your private account panel on ecertificate.pro - it is never sent as an email attachment - and it carries a unique verification code that can be checked only in the ecertificate.pro database. It is not a government-approved or accredited qualification, it does not grant a licence, protected title or academic credit, and it does not guarantee funding or employment. It is a record of completed independent training, useful as evidence of structured self-education for a founder, an early hire or a small-business owner.

Who it is for

First-time founders and co-founders in the idea or pre-revenue phase; employees preparing to leave for their own venture; freelancers and consultants turning a service into a product; small-business owners launching a new line; and early team members at young companies - operations, marketing or engineering - who need to understand how validation, pricing and runway decisions get made around them.

What you will be able to do

  • Run a 15-conversation discovery cycle and turn raw notes into a ranked problem list scored by frequency and severity.
  • Write a riskiest-assumption test with a pass/fail number defined before any code is written.
  • Scope and ship an MVP in four weeks using concierge delivery, a smoke test or no-code assembly.
  • Set a first price from a value metric, a delivery-cost floor and willingness-to-pay research, then package it into three tiers.
  • Build a 100-name outreach list and run a cold-email-to-demo sequence with defined pipeline stages.
  • Maintain a 13-week cash sheet and calculate gross margin, customer acquisition payback and runway in months.
  • Produce a one-page monthly update covering metrics, decisions taken and the next experiment.

How it works

Learning format

Self-paced written material, downloaded from your dashboard. No fixed schedule and no live sessions — you work through it when it suits you.

Material delivery

Everything appears in your dashboard as soon as your payment is confirmed. Files are served only to your signed-in session.

Prerequisites

None. Basic spreadsheet skills (formulas, simple charts) make the pricing and cash flow exercises faster, and having a specific idea or side project gives you something concrete to apply each module to, but neither is required. All templates are provided; no coding, accounting or design background is assumed.

Completion

Work through eight modules with a short quiz after each (70% to pass, unlimited retakes), then submit one applied portfolio: a validated problem statement backed by interview notes, an MVP scope with its falsifying metric, a priced package, and a 13-week cash sheet. The certificate is released to your ecertificate.pro account panel once both parts are complete.

Your certificate

Once your completion is confirmed, we prepare your certificate and upload it to your dashboard, normally within 24–48 hours. You receive an e-mail as soon as it is there — you never have to chase it.

What this certificate is, plainly. It evidences completion of a ecertificate.pro training programme. It is not an accredited, state-regulated or nationally recognised qualification, and we never present it as one.

Refunds

Because the material is delivered digitally and immediately, purchases are non-refundable once the files have been made available to your account. The full terms are in our Refund Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is this certificate accredited or government-approved?
No. ecertificate.pro is an independent training provider. This certificate is not government-approved, is not accredited by any national or regional education authority, and does not grant a licence, protected title or academic credit. It records that you completed this specific course with us, nothing more.
Will it help me raise funding or guarantee a job?
No, and any provider promising that is misleading you. Investment and hiring decisions rest on your traction, your team and your market. What the course gives you is a working method and a set of documents - an evidenced problem statement, an MVP scope, a pricing sheet, a cash forecast - that you can show and defend.
How is the certificate verified?
Each certificate carries a unique verification code that resolves only in the ecertificate.pro database. Anyone holding the code can check the holder name, course title and issue date on our verification page. The code is not registered with, and cannot be looked up through, any third-party registry or public authority.
Do I need a registered company or an existing idea to start?
No. Every exercise works with an idea you are still testing, and the discovery, sizing and pricing modules are designed to be run before any entity exists. If you already trade, you can apply the cash sheet and pricing exercises directly to your live numbers.
How long does it take, and is there a deadline?
Around 24 hours of study, self-paced. There is no fixed schedule and no expiry on access, so you can spread it across a few weekends or finish it inside a week.
Is the legal and equity module a substitute for a lawyer or accountant?
No. It explains the vocabulary and arithmetic - vesting, cliff, IP assignment, option pool, convertible instruments, dilution - so you can hold an informed conversation and read a term sheet without confusion. Jurisdiction-specific filings, tax treatment and contract drafting still require a qualified local professional.
