What you will be able to do

  • Place any observed symptom on the correct OSI layer and name the header field that proves it - MAC address, IP TTL, TCP flags or an HTTP status line.
  • Subnet an IPv4 block by hand: convert /26, /27 and /30 masks into usable host ranges, plan VLSM address space for a four-site office, and spot overlapping ranges before deployment.
  • Read a routing table on Linux and on a vendor-style CLI, explain longest-prefix match and administrative distance, and add a static route plus default gateway that survives a reboot.
  • Trace a DNS query end to end - stub resolver, recursive resolver, root, TLD, authoritative - and use dig +trace, dig @server and SOA/NS records to prove where a stale answer comes from.
  • Capture traffic with tcpdump filters (host, port, tcp[tcpflags]) and analyse it in Wireshark: follow a TCP stream, identify retransmissions, and measure handshake and TLS setup latency.
  • Diagnose the recurring failure set: duplex mismatch, wrong VLAN, MTU and fragmentation problems, ARP conflicts, asymmetric return paths, and a firewall dropping SYN silently.
  • Document an unfamiliar network - L2/L3 diagram, address plan, DHCP scopes and DNS zones - in a form another engineer can act on without asking you questions.

Prerequisites

None beyond comfort with a command line on Windows, macOS or Linux. No prior networking study is assumed; IPv4 arithmetic is taught from binary up. A laptop able to run Wireshark and a free virtual lab (GNS3, Containerlab or three VMs) is recommended but not required — every exercise also has a single-host version.

Completion

Each module ends with a graded lab or scenario quiz, and the final assessment hands you a broken topology plus a capture excerpt to diagnose. Score 70% or higher and the certificate, with its unique verification code, appears in your private ecertificate.pro dashboard within minutes.

How does this relate to vendor exams such as CCNA or Network+?
It covers much of the same foundational ground - addressing, subnetting, routing logic, DNS, capture analysis - but it is not an exam-preparation product and gives you no credit toward any vendor certification. Many people use it to build the underlying understanding first, then sit the vendor exam separately.
Do I need lab hardware or a subscription to follow the exercises?
No. Every lab runs on an ordinary laptop with free software: Wireshark, tcpdump, the ip/ifconfig toolset, and an optional virtual topology in GNS3 or Containerlab. Where a router CLI is needed, commands are given both for a Linux host and in vendor-style syntax, so you can follow along either way.
How long does it take, and can I pause?
About 24 hours of focused work. You can take that in one intensive week or spread it across a month or two - access is self-paced, with no cohort dates or deadlines. Your progress is stored in your account, so you can stop after any module and resume later.
How is the certificate delivered and how does an employer verify it?
Once you pass the final assessment the certificate appears in your private ecertificate.pro dashboard, where you can view and download it. It is not sent as an e-mail attachment. Each certificate carries a unique verification code that anyone can check on ecertificate.pro; that code resolves only in our own database and is not filed with any third party.
Will this get me a job in networking?
No course can promise that, and we do not. What it gives you is testable knowledge and a documented capture-and-diagnose workflow you can talk through in an interview.
